This Alice in Wonderland costume might has well been the original costume with the amount of work that went into it.

The Alice bodice was carefully constructed in period style.  It laces up the back acting as a built in waist cincher to form fit to the figure.  It has heavy cotton as a lining and a blue-grey chiffon over it to make a very substantial piece.  It's got some weight to it.  Real grommets in the back lacing panel, hand painted detailed buttons down the front, hand threaded lace with ribbon, pleated sleeves detail in chiffon (very delicate)and matching hand assembled piping throughout.

The Alice skirt truly was a work of art.  Made as a full circle skirt, it weighs about 7lbs by itself.  The embroidery work was created by our shop to mimick the original work.  The embroidery was done about a foot at a time, carefully aligned to be continuous.  It took amazing skill to perfectly align each foot of embroidery to look like a continuous circle.  This is not a "print" and the fabric did not come this way.  The embroidery was completely hand done from scratch and took about 19 hours to assemble.  The skirt hooks in the back.

The striped petticoat is made in full circle as well to match the yardage in the outer skirt.  It is done with the same construction as the outer skirt in which you have a straight part and then a full ruffle.  The ruffle has a hand assembled bias edge fully enclosed at the bottom.  Draw string waist.

The under petticoat is a manufactured slip that holds the entire skirt out.  If you don't want it as full as it is in the picture, this petticoat can be skipped but it is included in the package.

Also included is Alice's black and white Victorian boots.  The boots are manufactured but hand painted to look like the movie.
