This costume is a reproduction of the 1960's era Chitty Chitty Bang Bang movie character Truly Scrumptious costume as worn in the scene where she plays a doll on a music box. This costume is versatile as it is largely based on German dirndl folk wear, or can translate into a friendly clown for children.

The skirt is made from a printed cotton in a full circle (shown over a tea length petticoat for fullness), white tights and black pumps (sold separately) and edged in large eyelet lace trim at the bottom. The apron, also done in cotton has a carefully done German inspired floral motif inspired by the movie and was hand drawn by our staff and custom printed onto the cotton for a permanent look that is completely washable. The apron ties in the back into a pretty bow with long hanging ties.

The bodice is made from a forest green satin trimmed in black velvet, accented with stitched ribbon down the front and gold buttons. The sleeves are a double puff done in delicate white silk satin that have giant full circle flounces at the end also trimmed with lace and lined (double layer in the sleeves and lined for the flounce. There is yellow ribbon stitched to the sleeves for added detail. This gives a beautiful and feminine touch to the wearer. The collar is also trimmed in lace and the dress zips up the back for easy in and out.
